Tilitonse Foundation has partnered with Comic Relief and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the UK (UKAID) to implement a programme called SR20- Shifting the Power Programme. The programme is aimed at developing the capacity of civil society organizations so that they are more resilient and better able to carry out their mandates. It is expected to run from 2023 to 2030 in phases. The four thematic areas for the Programme are: Early Childhood Development, Gender Justice, Mental Health, and Safe and Secure Shelter.
About Healthwise Organization
HWO is a non-profit organization committed to transforming and empowering children, girls, youths, young women, and other vulnerable populations, including persons living with disabilities. The Organization is a recipient of a Civil Society Strengthening Fund grant under the Shifting the Power Programme, implemented by Tilitonse Foundation in partnership with Comic Relief and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (UKAID).
As part of its institutional strengthening process, HWO conducted a comprehensive capacity-building assessment to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement across its systems, governance structures, policies, and operational practices. In response to the findings, the organization seeks to engage qualified and experienced consultants/consultancy firms to provide technical support in the below areas to strengthen its institutional capacity, governance, operational efficiency. and long-term sustainability.
i. Leadership & Governance Training for Board Members
Strengthen the Board's understanding of governance principles and best practices. Clarify the roles and responsibilities of Board Members and management. Enhance strategic leadership, decision-making, and oversight functions. Improve risk management, compliance, and accountability at the Board level. Promote ethical leadership and effective Board performance
ii. Organizational Assessment and Development of Procedure Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Assess organizational processes, systems, and internal controls. Identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies. Develop or update procedure manuals and SOPs aligned with best practices. Strengthen compliance, accountability, and operational effectiveness.
iii. Strengthen Financial Management System
Conduct a comprehensive review of existing financial systems and controls. Strengthen internal control mechanisms and risk management practices. Develop and/or update the financial policies and procedures manual. Support the selection, installation, and configuration (if required) of appropriate accounting software. Build staff capacity in financial management and reporting. Enhance donor compliance and financial reporting standards.
iv. Change Management and Leadership Training
Strengthen understanding of change management principles and frameworks. Enhance leadership skills for guiding teams through change. Improve Internal and external communication, stakeholder engagement, and buy-in during change processes. Build resilience, accountability, and performance- oriented leadership.
v. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software Selection, Installation, Configuration, and Training
Assess organizational needs and recommend a suitable ERP solution. Support the installation and configuration of the ERP system. Customize the system to align with organizational processes. Train staff to effectively use and manage the ERP system.
vi. Development of the Organization's Strategic Plan
Review the organization's current strategic positioning and performance. Facilitate inclusive and participatory strategic planning processes. Define strategic priorities, goals, and outcomes for the planning period. Develop an implementable Strategic Plan with clear monitoring mechanisms
