The National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) Trust is an independent and autonomous public institution governed by its own Board of Trustees. It was registered as a Public Trust under the Trustees Incorporation Act on 14th March 2012.
NICE Trust exists to promote the consolidation of democracy and good governance in Malawi through the provision of high-quality civic and voter education. The Trust operates in a professional, Impartial, coordinated and non-partisan manner across all districts of the country.
In line with its mandate, NICE Trust is intended to remain a permanent public institution that strengthens democratic culture and civic participation in Malawi. To enhance institutional sustainability and operational efficiency, the Trust seeks to acquire its own office premises in Mchinji, Mangochi, Mzimba and Nsanje Districts.
With funding from the Government of Malawi through the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP), NICE Trust intends to procure existing office buildings as part of this long-term institutional development strategy.
To enhance the institutional sustainability of NICE Trust in the short, medium, and long term through the acquisition of permanent office premises.
To procure an existing building structure with adequate space and potential for refurbishment to accommodate functional office operations.
In view of this objective, NICE Trust invites Expressions of Interest (EoIs) from bona fide property owners with valid proof of ownership who wish to sell their properties to NICE Trust. Interested parties should take note of the following key specifications:
NICE Trust seeks an already constructed structure that can be renovated or modified into a functional office space with capacity to include additional institutional facilities such as a resource centre.
The plot should measure between 0.1 and 0.2 hectares, providing adequate space for potential structural modifications or extensions.

The property should accommodate not fewer than five (5) vehicles.
All shortlisted properties will undergo a comprehensive technical evaluation by a panel of experts to assess structural integrity, renovation requirements, cost implications, and overall suitability.
The bid opening will be conducted in an open and transparent manner. All applicants or their duly appointed representatives are encouraged to attend the opening session at their own cost.
