The Deposit Insurance Corporation (DIC) wishes to invite applications from eligible and reputable suppliers, contractors, and service providers for prequalification and registration to supply goods, provide services, and execute works for the period 2026 -2027
The DIC is a statutory body established by the Deposit Insurance Corporation Act, 2022. The DIC came into operation on 1 October 2023 with the main objective of providing protection to depositors against the risk of losing their eligible deposits as a result of bank failure.
This prequalification exercise is being conducted pursuant to Section 56(Tand(5) of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act (2025) and Regulation 115(1) (a)(b)(c)and(d) of the Public Procurement Regulations (2020), which empower procuring and disposing entities to maintain a list of prequalified or registered suppliers for the purpose of inviting them to participate in restricted tenders and requests for quotations
The objective of this prequalification is to establish a credible and transparent database of eligible vendors who will be considered for future procurement opportunities in accordance with the principles of fairness, competitiveness, transparency, and value for money as prescribed under the PPDA Act.
The objective is to ensure that all procurement activities are conducted transparently. competitively, and efficiently in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act (PPDA Act, 2025) and the Deposit Insurance Corporation Procurement Guidelines.
This prequalification covers three broad categories
a) Category A: Goods
b) Category B: Works
c) Category C: Consultancy/Services
Applicants may apply for one or more categories, but must clearly indicate the lot Number(s) and Description(s) applied for.
Separate applications must be submitted for each category.

Interested firms must submit the following documents (mandatory):
a) Valid Business Registration Certificate or Certificate of Incorporation issued by the relevant authority.
b) Valid Tax Clearance Certificate from the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), or any valid tax registration document in accordance with the provisions of the Taxation Act.
c) PPDA Registration Certificate confirming compliance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act.
d) Proof of Physical Business Address (eg, recent utility bill, tenancy agreement, or equivalent official document).
e) Company Profile, clearly indicating the management structure, staff competencies, key contact persons, and official contact details.
f) Relevant Professional or Industry Certifications, licenses, or accreditations applicable to the services or goods offered (e.g., NCIC, MERA, MICT, MBS, or other recognised bodies).
g) Joint Ventures or Partnerships: If applicable, attach a signed Partnership Agreement specifying the roles, responsibilities, and obligations of all parties.
a. Each category applied for must be submitted in a separate sealed envelope, clearly labelled:
"Prequalification for Supply of Goods/Services/Works - Lot No. [insert Lot Number]".
a. The dosing date for this prequalification is 5 February 2026, constituting a minimum period of fourteen (14) days in accordance with Regulation 112(2) of the Public Procurement Regulations (2020).

Successful applicants will be included in the Approved Vendor Register for the period 2026-2027 Financial Year and will be invited to participate in subsequent restricted tenders or requests for quotations.
Submission of an application does not create any entitlement, contractual obligation, or expectation of award.
The Deposit Insurance Corporation (DIC) reserves the absolute discretion to accept or reject any or all applications, in whole or in part, without providing reasons or incurring Bability.
Inclusion on the prequalification list does not guarantee participation in, or award of, any future procurement.
Applicants respond entirely at their own risk, and DIC shall not be liable for any costs, expenses, or losses incurred in connection with the submission.
